Emily Irene VanCamp was originally looking to become a dancer. However, after going to Katie's set on Ladies Room, she became more attracted to acting. Alongside learning to act, VanCamp landed the role of a guest on a television show in Canada. The TV shows she starred in include Are You fearful to be in the Dark? Radio Active, Dice. VanCamp made a breakthrough in his career following his appearance as an actor in the role of Sam Dolan on the WB Horror Mystery show Glory Days. Although the show received positive reviews, this show's poor ratings ultimately led to it having to be cancelled after just nine episodes. Actually, she was quick to secure a new role Amy Abbott on Everwood. This role led to her being nominated as an Young Artist Award nominee and for four Teen Choice Awards.
